As a sufferer of RSI, a recent
thread on cre8asite about ways of easing the pain caused by repetitive strain injury caught my attention. A few people posted their tips for easing the pain which can be caused by constantly using a computer. Along with a few helpful links:
computer related repetitive strain injuryThe Alexander TechniqueChairs and Seating positionI also occasionally use
Dragon Naturally Speaking by Nuance (formely ScanSoft) which is an awesome speech recognition program. I mainly use it for reports and writing long documents, but I do know a programmer who used it with great success with CF studio.
I know a few people with similar wrists complaints and we've discussed various techniques for easing the pain such as using a wrist support, having a footrest and having your keyboard flat. Although what seems to work for one person doesn't always work for another, I'm curious to find out if other people in the community have any tips on what works for them.
